DYNAMIC Leadership College Scholarship Recipients announced - May 14, 2021

Congrats 2021 Scholarship Winners: Darren Lee, Kennedy Moore, Logan Kate Nichols, Timothy Prabhu, Kevin Sangmuah, Skyler Stricker, Tyler Swinehart.

Kennedy Moore - DYNAMIC Leadership College Scholarship Winner 2021

Kennedy Moore, a Public Health and Tropical Medicine major at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA is heading to Uganda Africa for ten weeks this summer to serve on a medical team in the village of Bwanalira. Kennedy won the DYNAMIC Leadership College Scholarship as a sophomore at Tulane. She has been a life-changing leader for years and even started her own podcast called “That Good College Life!” Kennedy speaks fluent French as a second language and has been praying about serving in Africa for well over a year. Moore is a brilliant student (4.0 in her field of study at Tulane and was at the top of her class at Marvin Ridge High School in 2019).

Kennedy is the daughter of Brad and Nicole Moore in Waxhaw, NC. Kennedy was impacted by Young Life in high school and is already giving back as a Young Life Leader in the New Orleans, LA area the past two years. She would like to thank Jesus, her parents, her brother Jackson, everyone in her Young Life community around the nation (especially her mentors; Courtney Smith and Brenda Seitz), Metairie Church, Donna Cook her Principal from high school that has always believed in her, and all her friends and teammates who have inspired her to become a leader. Kennedy is a lighthouse and enthusiastic friend to everyone who knows her! Roll Wave!

Timothy Prabhu - DYNAMIC Leadership College Scholarship Winner 2021

Timothy Prabhu has dreams to work in the National Football League someday and he is making strides in that journey as the winner of the 2021 DYNAMIC Leadership College Scholarship. Timothy currently works with the Charlotte 49ers Football Team as a Student Coach and Equipment Manager, while working on his undergraduate degree at UNC-Charlotte. As a player in high school Prabhu helped lead Charlotte Christian to a NCISAA Football State Championship. Timothy is a leader of leaders who serves relentlessly in the Carolinas. For the past two years Prabhu has led a DYNAMIC Coach/Mentor Intern. For over ten years Timothy has served alongside his family in Proverbs 226, an outreach ministry his dad founded. Proverbs 226 goes into prisons and meets with inmates to initiate relationships to bring resources to their struggling families on the outside. It is Proverbs 226 mission to keep one million children out of prison by engaging, encouraging, educating and empowering those children now. Timothy shares his faith through action and is making a life-changing difference on and off the field.

Timothy is the son of Cyril and Jayashree Prabhu in Charlotte, NC. Timothy is grateful for all the love and support he has received. He has big dreams, because he serves a big God and every day is a chance to show God’s love to people in need.

Darren Lee - DYNAMIC Leadership College Scholarship Winner 2021

Darren Lee, the multi-sport impact student-athlete from Marvin Ridge High School (Class of 2021) has won the 2021 DYNAMIC Leadership College Scholarship. Darren is known across the Carolinas for his tremendous achievements in the classroom, on the basketball court, mentoring younger athletes, serving in the city, and as a leader in his Christian faith. Darren will be attending the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in the fall of 2021 and plans to double major in Environmental Science and Information Science. Darren has an entrepreneurial spirit and has already collaborated to start a web page to assist his peers in understanding the Bible. Lee also founded his own basketball training outreach to mentor youth and serves as Intern Coach with DYNAMIC. Darren has grown significantly in his walk with Jesus through Young Life and serving at Beds For Kids, alongside Chip McGee. Darren is preparing to serve as a Young Life Leader in Chapel Hill during college.

Darren is the son of Daniel and Gege Lee in Waxhaw, NC. Darren would like to thank God and his parents for their lifelong support, courage, and guidance. Darren also is grateful for Coach Haines and the rest of his outstanding coaches, teammates, and friends who have continued to lead right through the challenges of the pandemic. We are all proud of Darren and can’t wait to see how the Lord uses him during college.

Logan Kate Nichols - DYNAMIC Leadership College Scholarship Winner 2021

Logan Kate Nichols, the outstanding soccer student-athlete from Parkwood High School (Class of 2021) has won the DYNAMIC Leadership College Scholarship. Nichols also earned partial athletic and academic scholarships to play soccer at Converse University in Spartanburg, SC. starting in the summer of 2021. Logan Kate is a life-changing leader on and off the field and has always taken her role as Team Captain very seriously. Logan Kate is going to be majoring in Biology at Converse and plans to go to graduate school to become a doctor or P.A. (Physician Assistant).

Logan Kate is the daughter of Chad and Erinn Nichols in Monroe, NC. She lives life with contagious joy, enthusiasm, and humility. She would like to thank God, who has given her strength and faith everyday. Logan Kate also thanks her parents, her brother Cale, and all of her coaches particularly; Rod Jackson, Nelson Garner, and Sean Miller. In 2018, Logan Kate suffered a traumatic, compound, lower-leg fracture in a game. She worked extremely hard in rehab and comeback training under the amazing care of Joe Tedesco with Architech Sports. Logan Kate scored a goal in her first game back (April 16, 2019) and she continues to lead her teammates with a overcoming spirit of gratitude.

Skyler Stricker - DYNAMIC Leadership College Scholarship Winner 2021

Skyler Stricker, the two-time Club Soccer National Champion and dedicated student-athlete from Coppell High School (Class of 2021) has won the DYNAMIC Leadership College Scholarship. Stricker also earned a partial athletic scholarship to play soccer at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. starting in the summer of 2021. Skyler Stricker is a life-changing leader on and off the field and has taken his role as Team Captain very seriously for over seven years. Skyler is a committed Christian and plans to serve in the medical field after college as well as through meaningful ministries like Young Life.

Skyler is the son of Chris and Amanda Stricker in Coppell, TX. Skyler would like to thank his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, first and foremost. He also thanked his parents, siblings, coaches at Solar Soccer Club and Coppell HS, Mr. Watkins his math teacher, and all of the teammates who have inspired him to become a leader.

Tyler Swinehart – DYNAMIC Leadership College Scholarship Winner 2021

Tyler Swinehart, the accomplished two-sport, student-athlete from Charlotte Country Day School (Class of 2021) won the DYNAMIC Leadership College Scholarship in May 2021. Tyler earned All-State honors in both Varsity Football (Kicker/Punter) and Varsity Soccer during the 2020-2021 Seasons along with his stellar 3.9 grade point average. Tyler will be majoring in Business at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI in the fall. He also earned a partial academic scholarship to Calvin and will play on the soccer team. Tyler is a life-changing leader who has served in his city relentlessly, particularly through Project 658. Tyler plays on the Charlotte Eagle Club Soccer Team who recently won the US Club Soccer Championships in Denver, CO.

Tyler is the son of Dustin and Betty Swinehart and they live in Charlotte, NC. Tyler would like to thank God first and foremost. He also thanked his parents, siblings, Coach Whitman (football) and Coach Swinehart (soccer) at CCDS, and all of his peers and teammates for helping him become the best leader he can be for God’s glory.

Kevin Sangmuah - DYNAMIC Leadership College Scholarship Winner 2021

Kevin Sangmuah is heading to the University of Southern California as a DYNAMIC Leadership College Scholarship winner in 2021. Sangmuah, the Varsity Football Captain and inspirational team leader at Providence Day School earned a 4.23 grade point average, perfect score on his math ACT, and National Merit Scholar honors. Kevin is going to major in Computer Science and Business Administration at USC.

Kevin is the son of Eugene and Dorothy Sangmuah in Charlotte, NC. On the football field Sangmuah was a force on offense, defense, and special teams for the Chargers who ascended to the number one ranking in the state (NCISAA) during the season under coach Chad Grier. Kevin would like to thank his parents, his brother Andy, Coach Grier, and all his outstanding past and present coaches and teachers.
